The domain

When the sunny days come back, The Cabanes de La Réserve reopen their doors fully around March 20: it is the ideal time to book a break in the forest, on the banks of the ponds, only 1h15 from Paris, and enjoy all the benefits of a stay surrounded by nature.

When do the wineries reopen in spring?

After the winter The huts first welcome travelers on weekends, before the official reopening of the domain around March 20. It is during this period that the calendar is filled with continuous stays, for a season that extends until autumn.

At Cabanes de La Réserve, the estate extends over 35 hectares between ponds, glade and forest, on the edge of the Laigue forest and the Compiègne forest, with three bodies of water bordered by birches, willows and reeds. A few kilometers from Compiègne and 1h15 from Paris, the change of season can be felt very quickly: the light is getting softer, the songs of birds more present.

Spring is also the period when the various Coucoo Cabanes domains, pioneers of eco-tourism since 2009, are fully restarting their activities, each in its own territory, with the same promise: responsible stays, integrated into nature, far from overconsumption.

A forest 1 hour 15 minutes from Paris to reconnect with the essentials

As soon as you cross the gate, you leave the rhythm of daily life. The paths cross the woods, follow the ponds, sink between the trees; the impression of being alone in the world quickly sets in, punctuated only by the song of the birds and the rustle of the leaves.

This setting is ideal for a real reconnection to nature. Walking on forest trails in the early morning, stopping simply to look at the surface of the water in the sun at the end of the day: the slowdown is self-evident. The days are structured around simple actions: prepare a dinner basket on the terrace, take a boat trip, observe the reflections of the sky on the ponds or meet deer at the bend of the path.

This immersion in the forest allows you to gradually disconnect from screens and notifications, in favor of conversation, contemplation and silence. For many travelers, a simple weekend is enough to find better sleep, a quieter mind and a new sense of breathing.

Sleep in a cabin in the heart of nature

The domain counts today 26 huts perched, on the ground or on stilts, with or without a Nordic bath, designed for two to five people. Three main families of cabins structure the experience:

The huts perched in the trees, accessible by a ladder, nestle between the clearing and the forest. They offer a large bedroom with a view, an indoor/outdoor shower and a terrace with a Nordic bath and a swing or hammock, for an impression of a secret hideaway several meters above the ground.

The huts on stilts, at the edge of the ponds, welcome couples and families in comfort “just like at home”: electricity, bathroom, one or two bedrooms, kitchen area, terrace and outdoor living space at the edge of the water, often with private Nordic bath.

The ground huts at the edge of the water are designed as warm cocoons, with a cozy bed, beautiful interior space, terrace with Nordic bath and the possibility of preparing a barbecue facing the pond. They invite you to rediscover the simple and authentic joys of living closer to nature.

For tribes, the large Spa Le Refuge cabin uses all the codes of cabins with more space: three bedrooms, living room, equipped kitchen, bathroom and Nordic bath, to meet up for several days in the green.

The benefits of a stay in the forest in spring

In spring, the forest wakes up gently: the air is softer, the light filters through the first leaves, the birds and animals are easier to observe from the terrace or the hot tub. This season is particularly suitable for a daily “detox”:

Nights in a cabin, in almost total calm, promote letting go. The presence of wood, natural light and unobstructed views of the ponds soothe the eye and limit aggressive visual solicitations.

The proposed activities on the estate: walks or bike rides, boat tours, wildlife observation, discovery of the mini-farm, invite you to move gently, in the open air, far from home to office trips.

Digital disconnection is facilitated: some cabins have no wifi or network, which encourages you to fully enjoy the moment and the people you are staying with.

A responsible break, from a gourmet basket to a Nordic bath

The Cabanes de La Réserve are part of an ecotourism approach: sustainable materials, local wood travelled in less than 60 kilometers, off-site construction to limit the impact on biodiversity, facilities designed to promote an authentic connection to nature.

On the table side, the breakfast, brunch, aperitif and dinner baskets honor local producers within a radius of about sixty kilometers: homemade bread and pastries, yogurts and farm cheeses, apple juice, honey and jams from the region.

The Spa huts are equipped with a heated Nordic bath, fed by a natural water treatment system, for a moment of well-being in front of the forest or the ponds. After a walk in the forest, immersing yourself in hot water while listening to the birds is one of the most popular spring rituals.
